Acted as project counsel to the OpenNet consortium which clinched the hotly contested bid to design, build and operate the passive infrastructure for the NGNBN. The network will be capable of delivering speeds of up to 1Gbps and beyond, offering ultra-high speed broadband connectivity to 95% of homes, buildings and offices throughout Singapore by 2013. Construction and commissioning costs are estimated to be about S$1 billion and OpenNet expects to spend S$1 billion to S$2 billion over the 25-year licence period for access to infrastructure. OpenNet will be eligible for financial support grants of up to S$750 million from the Singapore Government. The OpenNet consortium comprises Axia NetMedia Corporation, Singapore Telecommunications Limited, Singapore Press Holdings Limited and SP Telecommunications Pte Ltd.

Acted as Singapore counsel for a Japanese-listed company, Dowa Holdings Co., Ltd ("Company"), in its subsidiary's acquisition of all the shares of Modern Asia Environmental Holdings Inc ("MAEH"). MAEH operates four waste management and disposal facilities in three countries in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand).

Acted for 2 of the 6 appointed fund managers in establishing VC funds under the Singapore National Research Foundation's Early Stage Venture Funding Scheme.

Acted for Japan Land Limited in the financing, development and construction of the Jurong Data Centre. The estimated project value for this transaction is S$400 million.

Acted for Ford Motor Company in the sale of its subsidiaries, Land Rover and Jaguar Cars Limited, to Tata Motors Limited of India in a deal worth US$2.3 billion. This transaction won the SE Asia M&A Deal of the Year at the ALB SE Asia 2009 Law Awards.
