Lim Hsiao Sze is a partner in Rodyk & Davidson LLP's Real Estate Practice Group.
Hsiao Sze has represented various corporate and individual clients in a broad range of real estate transactions. This includes the sale, purchase, mortgage and charge of properties, as well as leases and licences.
Hsiao Sze has represented developers in their sale of units in various local and foreign housing projects. She represents landlords in the lease of retail malls, office towers and industrial properties. Generally, she has managed the entire lease and licence documentation on the landlord's behalf for such projects. She drafts customised master leases, vets lease and license documentation, handles negotiations on behalf of landlords or tenants, manages lease documentation on behalf of landlords, and provides general advisory services in related matters. She has acted for developers and landlords in the leasing of build to suit buildings (to be constructed on business park land leased from statutory boards) to foreign and local banks.
Hsiao Sze was in house counsel with a now listed hotels and resorts group which develops and manages hotel resorts and spa facilities in various parts of the world. As in house counsel, she handled the Group's corporate restructuring and all legal matters relating to the listing of the Group's listing vehicle on the Singapore Stock Exchange. She drafted various agreements such as joint venture agreements, lease and management agreements, land utilisation agreements for development of resort projects, employment and IT contracts and the Group's web site rules and regulations. Her experience included advisory work on all legal aspects of business involving intellectual property and IT issues, and handling all litigious matters (including instructing local and foreign lawyers), both court based and through alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation.
Hsiao Sze taught law at Temasek Polytechnic and the topics taught include Legal Aspects of Business, Legal Aspects of Information Technology, Company Law, Insurance Law & Practice and Conveyancing Law & Procedure.
