Acted for OCBC, DBS, UOB, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank NA, Natixis and CIMB Bank Berhad, as mandated lead arrangers, in the grant of S$825 million syndicated facilities to HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore) Limited in its capacity as trustee of Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust for the purpose of refinancing its existing collateralized mortgage-backed securities, medium term notes and indebtedness under a revolving credit facility. The facilities were secured by Suntec City Mall, Suntec Tower 4 and certain units in Suntec Tower 3.
Represented the lenders to the Marubeni Consortium comprising Kansai Electric, Kysushu Electric Power, Japan Bank of International Co-operation and GDF Suez in the S$2.9 billion acquisition financing and JPY67 billion repowering of Senoko Power. Senoko Power is Singapore's largest power generation and retail company and is the second of the three power generation units that Temasek intends to divest as part of efforts to privatise the power industry in Singapore. This deal won the Singapore M&A;Deal of the Year and was finalist for the Singapore Deal of the Year at the ALB SE Asia 2009 Law Awards.
Acted for SCB and The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, as arrangers, of a syndicated S$650 million term loan facility to HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore) Limited in its capacity as trustee of the real estate investment trust known as the "CapitaCommercial Trust" to finance the acquisition cost of One George Street, Singapore.
Acted for OCBC and HSBC in the grant of S$346 million banking facilities to a joint venture vehicle to finance its purchase and development of property at Alexandra Road, Singapore.
Acted for OCBC, DBS and UOB in the grant of S$480.5 million bridge facility to a special purpose vehicle to finance its acquisition and development of a 7-storey retail complex located at Serangoon Central.
