Yew Woon Chooi is a partner in Rodyk & Davidson LLP's Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group. She has several accolades to her name and is recognised as a leading IP practitioner.

Woon Chooi manages worldwide intellectual property portfolios for local and foreign clients, including multinational corporations. She advises on all areas of intellectual property, including worldwide registration of intellectual property, infringement and counterfeiting actions, commercialisation of intellectual property rights (such as licensing, franchising and collaboration agreements).

Woon Chooi has an in depth understanding of the information technology industry from her experience as an in house counsel of a system integration company. She advises on all types of IT contracts, including software and hardware contracts, software development agreements, turnkey contracts, network agreements, service level agreements, data centre agreements, e-commerce agreements, terms and conditions for e-commerce, web hosting agreements etc. Woon Chooi advises on commercial transactions involving intellectual property. These include conducting due diligence, advising on joint ventures, licensing, franchising, distribution and manufacturing agreements, technology transfer agreements, merchandising agreements, sale and purchase of and security interests in intellectual property, publishing contracts, entertainments contracts, sale and purchase of shares, businesses and assets and tenders.

Woon Chooi has also advised on comprehensive programmes for intellectual property protection and management in corporations. Woon Chooi's practice largely involves cross border intellectual property transactions, in particular involving China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines.

Woon Chooi also provides advice on competition issues for all transactions, and is a member of the firm's Competition Law Practice Team.
