Next Generation National Broadband Network (NGNBN) Corporate | Corporate Commercial

Rodyk is project counsel to the OpenNet consortium which clinched the hotly contested bid to design, build and operate the passive infrastructure for the NGNBN. The network will be capable of delivering speeds of up to 1Gbps and beyond, offering ultra-high speed broadband connectivity to 95% of homes, buildings and offices throughout Singapore by 2013. Construction and commissioning costs are estimated to be about S$1 billion and OpenNet expects to spend S$1 billion to S$2 billion over the 25-year licence period for access to infrastructure. OpenNet will be eligible for financial support grants of up to S$750 million from the Singapore Government.

The OpenNet consortium comprises Axia NetMedia Corporation, Singapore Telecommunications Limited, Singapore Press Holdings Limited and SP Telecommunications Pte Ltd.
