Rodyk successfully obtained a High Court judgment in favour of its client, Yong Ching See, who sued the defendant for the transfer of 175,000 company shares. The Court held that the shares were held on a resulting trust by the defendant and ordered the shares to be transferred to the plaintiff. Significantly, this is the first High Court judgment to apply the resulting trust principles articulated by the Court of Appeal in a landmark case late last year.
