Rodyk is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Gan-Marumo, who joins the firm's Finance Practice Group as a partner for banking and real estate financing.
Karen has advised extensively on banking, financial services, securities and derivatives laws. She has represented local and foreign banks, finance companies, multinational corporations and corporate institutions in domestic and cross-border transactions relating to corporate banking, trade finance, syndicated loans, property project financing, transferable loan facilities, multi-currency facilities and corporate debt restructurings. Her experience in handling derivative matters includes having represented various corporate clients in advising, negotiating and documenting ISDA documentation with banks, in particular the ISDA Master Agreement and Schedule in relation to interest rate swaps, currency swaps, cross-currency swaps, FX transactions, currency options transactions, rate caps, collars and floors. Karen has written articles on a range of issues concerning financing and residential property development.
Karen graduated from National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree in 1984. She was called to the Singapore bar in February 1985 after being acknowledged, jointly with another, for the Aw Boon Haw & Aw Boon Par Memorial Prize for top performance in the Postgraduate Practical Law Course 1984.
